THE MIND PROJECT

Our Services
‘The Mind Project’ is your helping hand away from home; a culturally inclusive app aiming to educate and improve the various forms of mental health impacting international students. The app is centred around a daily wellbeing self-tracker, ‘Project You’, which invokes accountability and self-awareness of the user’s mental wellbeing 1.
Prompts for the user to input daily responses revolving around exercise habits, mental mindset, social activity, and a form of relaxation (e.g. meditation, journaling, or breathing exercises), help improve the user’s mental health. These are intended to improve the mental wellbeing of International students, who very often experience stress and anxiety due to isolation from their culture and families 2.
‘TMP’ also connects users with local support networks of the same language. Through the use of location services, the app will present local councillors and support networks available nearby. As identified by Orygen, the common experience of “...not knowing where to go or who to go to” was identified as a significant barrier in many students seeking out assistance (2020, p. 8). This feature will establish a convenient way for users to access appropriate support networks, providing direct links to either call or contact their chosen support network.
